Catablog of music .V9.
It’s been a long time, I shouldn’t have left you
Without a Catablog to step to
Think of how many crap shows you slept through
Time’s up, I’m sorry I kept youReminisce for a spell, or shall i say think back
we’re on 9 catablogs just to keep it on track
More lives than a cat, plenty more than a beaver
This week will have u sweating like jungle feverSit back relax and let yourself go
Don’t sweat what you heard, but act like you know
No new tricks, just another opportunity for you to share, recommend and find music that may not necessarily find the light of day or just may be of interest to other people. The aim is to have a directory of great music or what I have coined a catablog of music.
Why don’t you add your three (max) picks to this week’s catablog. Format is as follows;
Genre
Artist
Song
youtube link
myspace link (if you can be bothered)
abit of blurb, two sentences max (if you’re keen)
—————————————————–
Indie
White lies

Unfinished Business
Unfinished Businesse – youtube
white lies myspace
they’ve been on the NME tour, jools holland etc… im slow on this one. However not entirely late, the lead singer has got a big voice, the band have a great sound, ive only heard 2 songs but they sound promising, undoubtedly going to be pimped as the big thing of 2008 – enjoy
Urban Funk Synth Pop
Jason Jermaine

Kiss Hug Touch & Suck
KHT&S Live- youtube
Jason Jermaine myspace
Ok so I went to a super cool event at Favela Chic last night called – Ain’t it black, it was so funky it hurt. This guy performed a killer live set.. with the onslaught of terrible US suburban skinny jean scensters – (i.e gym class heros) Jason Jermaine is a refreshing authentic UK throwback with a hint of everything good about the 80s funk soul sound
Old School Rap

Tribe Called Quest – Scenario You tube
Eric B & Rakim – I know you got soul You tube
Pete Rock & C.L Smooth- T.R.O.Y. (They Reminisce Over You)You tube
If you didnt already know, the attempt at a rap at the beginning was me ripping off and adding to some classic lines from the songs above – there is so much rubbish rap on the radio these days – i love this old stuff – this is just a small sample if you like those I recommend you try Juice by Rakim.

An odd mixture, none current but getting back into the swing…
Pop…ish..?
Style Council
My Ever Changing Moods
In my opinion Wellers best outfit, Style Council have a fantastic back catalogue which I could personally pick several songs from which would always get me smiling/singing/dancing/mulling & always appreciating. By no means original, current, relevant or anything else but definately worth a listen if you aren’t familiar.
Funk…ish..? Pop..ish?
Prince
Starfish & Coffee
I am a massive Prince fan which is why this is a bit of an obscure choice. Perhaps not a song you will have heard before and possibly won’t want to again but it captures Prince entirely. This song is simple yet imaginative. Musically it isn’t brilliant but I love the melody and images it conjures.
Something for the lovers…
Joni Mitchell
A Case of You
Someone I recently met described this as ‘The nicest love song ever’, got me thinking, & whether it is or it isn’t it’s a great song.

And now I’m just going to abuse your patience but believe me it’s worth it.
Genre: Anti-gun crime hip hop
Artist: Invizible Circle, featuring Pat Regan (RIP)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-b564KFMelI&feature=PlayList&p=72C10C67A4964098&index=0
Pat Regan was murdered in Leeds yesterday. She was a leading anti-gun crime campaigner and featured in this youtube video as part of her campaign. It’s filmed in Leeds and Invizible Circle are from here too. Mercifully, the music’s tight as the message.
